Specialist Dyslexia Support with a Personal Touch

What is Dyslexia?

Dyslexia is a specific learning difficulty that primarily affects reading and spelling, but it can also impact memory, processing speed, and organisation. It has nothing to do with intelligence—many children with dyslexia are bright, creative thinkers who simply need to be taught in a different way.

In primary school, dyslexia might show up as a child struggling to sound out words, finding it hard to remember spellings, or taking longer than their peers to complete written work. They might avoid reading aloud or become frustrated with tasks involving language. With the right support, children with dyslexia can build confidence, overcome challenges, and reach their full potential.

About Me

I am a qualified teacher and Level 7 dyslexia specialist, fully trained to tutor and assess for dyslexia. With personal experience — both as a parent of a child with dyslexia and as someone recently diagnosed myself — I understand the challenges and emotions that can come with learning differences.

I specialise in working with primary school-aged children, helping them build confidence, strengthen their skills, and rediscover the joy of learning. Many children feel left behind, but with the right support and targeted intervention, they can thrive. My sessions are fast-paced and engaging, filled with short, structured activities—many of them games—that make learning effective and enjoyable.

Assessment and Support

Assessment isn’t just about identifying difficulties—it’s about understanding how a child learns best. A full diagnostic assessment offers a detailed picture of your child’s strengths and areas of challenge, along with clear, practical recommendations to support learning both at school and at home.

This can be a turning point, opening the door to the right strategies, tools, and understanding a child needs to succeed. Having been through this journey myself, I know how emotional it can be. But a diagnosis can also bring relief, clarity, and the confidence to move forward—for both children and their families.
